History and Origins of the Mont-Dore-Puy de Sancy
The classic car race, Mont-Dore-Puy de Sancy, had a modest start in 1961. Conceived by Claude Souchal with the editorial help of Pierre About of L'Équipe, this race quickly became a legend.
With its 40 perilous bends on 5 km of winding roads along the D36 between Moneaux and the Col de la Croix Saint Robert, the drivers face an extreme challenge. Unfortunately, in 1973, Daniel Rouveyran perished at the wheel of his F1 March. However, 20 years later, Dr Auriacombe passed the torch of race director to Daniel Pasquier, leaving a legacy for future generations.
Since 1974, the ASA Club d'Auvergne has organized this highly anticipated event, honoring Claude Souchal's legacy for many years.

Thousands of enthusiasts gathered to witness the legendary 62nd edition of the Mont-Dore-Chambon sur Lac hill climb, and it did not disappoint! The drivers demonstrated their skills and exceptional cars in this exciting race.
