Super Besse: The story of an Auvergne ski resort that is gaining momentum!
Super Besse was created in 1961, thanks to the initiative of Germain Gauthier. From the outset, the resort was equipped with cable cars connecting the Cirque de la Biche departure station to the Puy de la Perdrix arrival station. From 1961 to 2005, the growing success of Super Besse led to numerous investments in new ski lifts to meet the needs of an ever-increasing customer base.
In 2008, the arrival of Funitel marked a major turning point for Super Besse, propelling attendance at the Puy-de-Dôme station to new heights.
Super Besse and its ski area: Slopes for all levels!
The Super Besse ski area extends over 43 km of slopes, divided into 5 green slopes, 9 blue slopes, 9 red slopes and 4 black slopes. Located between 1,300 m and 1,800 m above sea level on the southern slope of the Sancy massif, it offers breathtaking panoramas.
Enjoy a unique experience thanks to the connection with the Mont-Dore domain, located on the northern slope of the Puy de Sancy. 3 ski lifts provide the connection between the two ski areas, allowing you to explore 84 km of slopes. However, weather conditions can sometimes prevent access to the link (fog, wind, frost, frost).
